Learning with tools

Web 2.0 tools present technical writers with both opportunities and challenges. The domains of learning, psycomotor, affective, and cognitive learning challenges must be be negotiated prior to the production aspect of technical writing.

The cognitive domain is probably the most challenging domain to conquer. Bloom's Taxonomy represents how we learn and how digital economies are incorporated into the learning process.

Before we can understand a concept we have to remember it
Before we can apply the concept we must understand it
Before we analyse it we must be able to apply it
Before we can evaluate its impact we must have analysed it
Before we can create we must have remembered, understood, applied, analysed, and evaluated.
